Role : Procurement (Engineering Industry)
Experience : 5 to 6 Years
Qulification : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Roles & Responsiblities :
- Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures to support organisational goals, including cost reduction, quality improvement, and risk mitigation.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery reliability, and technical capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve favourable terms and conditions while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements, technical specifications, and material requirements and ensure alignment with procurement objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance, and compliance, conducting regular supplier assessments, audits, and evaluations to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead supplier selection and sourcing activities for new projects, products, and initiatives, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Monitor market trends, industry dynamics, and supplier capabilities to identify cost savings, innovation, and risk mitigation opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and logistics, to optimise supply chain processes and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Utilize procurement tools and systems (e.g., ERP systems, e-procurement platforms) to streamline procurement workflows, automate processes, and improve efficiency.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to procurement teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
Skills :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the engineering industry.
- Strong technical expertise in engineering materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven track record of successfully managing procurement projects, supplier relationships, and supply chain processes.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to drive cost savings and value creation through effective supplier negotiations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams, stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in procurement processes and documentation. Proficiency in procurement tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba) and Microsoft Office Suite.
